By enrolling in the Android P beta program, you don't have to go through the hassles of downloading files and manually flashing them to your device.
During the annual I/O developer conference, Google unveiled plenty more details about its latest version of Android. This isn't the sort of update you should get on your single, primary smartphone device. Other normal devices are not compatible to handle the functionality of the new features of the Android P Operating System.
Since it's meant to be a reference device, the ADT-2 will be only available for developers and not for general public.
Google said it will roll out the technology, called Duplex, as an experiment in coming weeks. We've got more on that in another post, and the update will debut on the ADT-2 Android TV dongle soon, at least for developers.
"Android P Beta is available today on Google Pixel".
There will be a new pill-shaped home button available. It was able to navigate politely through a conversation without being confused where it could be. It will also encourage kids to be polite by thanking them when they say please, similar to a feature Amazon is bringing to its Alexa voice assistant.
Time limits help users restrict how much time an app is used every day. This feature will enable suggestions to finish a sentence helping the user to cut down time while writing an email. The app will also orient you and verify your position using local landmarks such as buildings and shops viewed through the camera. Screen rotation on Android P will be more efficient as it will give users more control over this function. It claimed that the OnePlus 5 and 5T were some of the first smartphones to receive Android Oreo updates and the company is focusing on pushing out Android security patch updates within two months of release as well.
The new version is eight times more powerful than last year's and it is water-cooled rather than air-cooled. For example, say "Hey Google, read me my messages" and you can get a summary of unread texts with the option to respond by voice. Assistant will also be integrated with Google Pay, which will allow Google Assistant to order food for you, pay your bills and even book flight tickets for you.
Still, Google is infusing more services with artificial intelligence, which has become more powerful in recent years because of software breakthroughs and decreasing hardware costs. It will adjust the brightness according to how the user would like it depending on the environment. Once you manually set the brightness for different lights, it will remember your setting and then it will automatically adjust the brightness for you.
"We're still developing this technology, and we want to work hard to get this right", Pichai said.
