However, thrust jumping and wallrunning-staples of previous Black Ops games-have been removed from this installment.
Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII features a combination of new and re-imagined Specialists, all of whom have distinct combat profiles and abilities. The other two feature more traditional weapons though, with Voyage of Despair set aboard the Titanic and Blood of the Dead based on one of the older Zombies maps. The mutations will have effects mechanics like zombie speed, health and weapon damage and more. Each one has their own set of attachments, which help make them unique for each player.
Operator mods for the guns have also been introduced to affect in-game performance, including making bullets heavier so they "distort and disorient" enemies. Healing is also now manually triggered by a dedicated healing button that runs on a cool down timer. With Black Ops 4, we've designed an experience for all play styles and skill levels from casual to competitive.
These new experiences give players new worlds in which to enjoy the Zombies theme. More information on Black Ops 4's Zombies mode will be revealed later this summer. It's clear that Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Battle Royale is going to be big news.
Don't worry. Call of Duty's persistent rival series Battlefield just announced the title of its next entry: Battlefield V. The game, with an expected release later this year, will be revealed in more detail in a live stream May 23. Treyarch and Beenox are collaborating with Blizzard to bring in the client's social systems, security, and server stability to the multiplayer-focused experience.
A new and improved Zombies mode was confirmed for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 during its reveal event today in Los Angeles.
Blackout will apparently take place on the largest map in the history of the franchise, with players able to pilot cars, boats, and aircraft in their quest to be the last one standing. There will be both solo and team play, and naturally vehicles (land, sea, and air). Iconic moments, environments, and experiences from the Black Ops franchise will be featured. Not offering any type of single-player experience in a franchise renowned for its excellent campaigns is a awful oversight.
