There has been an unprecedented amount of support for the victims and their families following Friday afternoon's crash of a junior hockey team's bus and a tractor-trailer.
Nick Shumlanski, the only one of the 14 injured in the crash to be released from hospital, attended the vigil wearing his white, green and yellow team jersey, an obvious bruise under his left eye.
Garinger was asked about Broncos head coach Darcy Haugan, and remembered the third-year bench boss as an incredible coach, incredible husband, incredible father, and incredible general manager.

"The arena is really the focal point of the community", Eaton said. That goes at City Hall starting at 7.
The Humboldt arena has a capacity of 1,854 - a seat for every 2.6 residents, given the town's official population.
The midget AA Crusaders and bantam AA Bears will also wear memorial stickers on their helmets in tonight's home playoff games in St. Albert.
Photographs posted on social media showed several injured members of the team holding hands with each other in hospital.

As part of the grieving process, the Raiders Hockey Club dressing room at Akinsdale Arena will be open today at 12 noon for family, friends and teammates to share memories of the four players. The rest moved there from towns across Saskatchewan and neighboring provinces, and live with local families. "Everything about this tragedy is unprecedented and it's overwhelming, including the torrential out-pouring of support our organization has seen".
Less than 17 hours after it was launched, a GoFundMe account organized to raise funds for the victims and families of the junior hockey team has received in excess of $1 million in donations from almost 17,000 contributors.
"In most cases they become like one of your children or grandchildren", said Gail Chilman, a billeting co-ordinator with the Estevan Bruins, a team in the same league as the Broncos. He was barely able to retain his composure as he looked through enlarged photographs of the dead players.
Townspeople and team supporters gathered at the local Uniplex sports and education complex to comfort each other.
"Our thoughts are with the players, families, coaches, team management, and all those throughout the community who have been affected by the tragedy, involving the Humboldt Broncos hockey team", Bettman wrote.
