Even Juve fans applaud Ronaldo's stunning overhead goal

Ronaldo starred for Real Madrid as they put Juventus to the sword and took control of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

Ronaldo's strike sparked incredulous celebrations from Madrid fans, including manager Zinedine Zidane who held his head in disbelief at the goal.

CRISTIANO RONALDO was practicing overhead kicks just 24 hours before his stunning finish against Juventus.

Ronaldo's brace gave him the Champions League record for goals scored in consecutive games.

Early last month, media reports said that 40-year old Buffon had taken a final decision to wrap up his career after the end of this year's season.

Five-time Ballon d'Or victor Cristiano Ronaldo once again showed why he is talked as one of the greatest players ever, as he single-handedly overwhelmed Juventus on Tuesday. Since 2016/17, all 10 of Real Madrid's Champions League games against teams we had ranked in the top 10 in Europe have seen at least three goals and Over 2.5 Goals is a huge price at odds-against. "It's something that stays in your heart.I want to thank all the Italians who were here in the stadium and applauded me".

But that was the surreal sight at the Allianz Stadium in Turin last night after Cristiano Ronaldo had scored one of the greatest goals in Champions League history.

Legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, whom Ronaldo has beaten with nine of past 11 shots on target, called his conqueror an "extraordinary champion.to be compared to Maradona and Pele".

"Madrid were sitting even further back after the break, until Cristiano scored a goal for the history books".

But, asked whose famous goal tops the lot, the Real Madrid boss was less effusive.

They say practise makes ideal and there have been few, if any, Champions League goals that can stand up to Ronaldo's stunning effort.

Ramos was booked for the challenge that led to that free kick and will be suspended for the second leg.

Ronaldo also told the Daily Mail in February, "I'll always say I'm the best and I'll prove it".

When Cristiano Ronaldo said in an interview in March that he was the greatest footballer ever - many chuckled and guffawed.

"I'm very happy for what he did, he's a different player because he does this kind of thing".
