And so, minutes after the University of Kansas felled Duke for the final ticket to the Final Four, Anderson Cooper sat across from Stephanie Clifford, an adult film actress who works under the stage name Stormy Daniels, and began a freaky conversation about Donald Trump's sexual peccadilloes, the nuances of her non-disclosure agreement, and the vagaries of potential election violations.
She said he invited her to dinner and they met in a hotel suite, where he started "just talking about himself" while showing her his photo on a magazine.
Cooper also pointed out that Daniels's agreement demanded she turn over all emails, text messages and other communications she had with Trump.
"Does this-does this normally work for you?"
"I turned down a large payday multiple times.I didn't wanna take away from the legitimate and legal, I'd like to point out, career that I've worked very hard to establish". "T- taking, you know, the seats facing backwards in the backseat, diaper bag, you know, gettin" all the stuff out".
Both women say their relationships with Trump began in 2006 and ended in 2007 and that they were paid for their silence in the months before the 2016 presidential election. After Daniels signed the statements, Cohen, Trump's attorney, released them publicly. "It'd be a shame if something happened to her mom.' And then he was gone", the adult film actress said. He then showered her with compliments, even telling her she reminded him of daughter Ivanka.
Stormy Daniels: Yeah. He was like, "Wow, you- you are special". You know- he was like, "You're smart and handsome, and a woman to be reckoned with, and I like you".
Daniels is seeking a ruling that the confidentiality agreement between her and the president is invalid, in part because Trump never signed it.
A week and a half before the 2016 election, Donald Trump's personal attorney paid a porn star named Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about her alleged relationship with the Republican candidate for President.
Daniels went on to, in a fashion complicated enough for the current discourse around sex and gendered power dynamics, declare that she didn't want to have sex with Trump but that she'd still done so consensually. Cohen said the payment, which was made 11 days before the 2016 USA presidential election, was a private transaction; he claimed that neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was involved. Ultimately, Stormy says that Trump said couldn't get her a spot on Celebrity Apprentice.
The president also has a history of saying questionable things about his daughter.
She said she was not attracted to Trump, who was 60, to Daniels' 27, in 2006.
"'Don't you think my daughter's hot?" She said he called her several times and would ask if they could get together again and that he had an update for her.
When it comes to defining public opinion through the power of television, the reality-show presidency may just have met its match. "She was 16. That's creepy". "I thought of it as a business deal", she said, per the New York Post.
"Was I tempted?" she said.
