The Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education is scheduled on Wednesday to formally approve a contract with Kristine Jenkins to take over as the districts new Superintendent.
Jenkins was one of 15 who applied for the job.
"If we do this we are going to create real issues within the community", he said.
School board Chairwoman Susan Karp said Monday "many people worked hard to bring that budget to a successful conclusion".

Duncan made the motion during the the board's January 23 work session, according to the approved minutes from that session. The board will also utilize what is known as a cap bank in order to exceed the state-mandated 2 percent cap on tax increases. "Be it resolved that the School Board of Leon County, Florida declares its intent to continue its longstanding School Resource Deputy Program, which places certified law enforcement officers in the public schools in Leon County to enhance students' educational opportunities by promoting a safe and secure learning environment".
The new position that had been put forward would be more senior than the district's two current associate superintendents, Bruce Abbott and Karen Strong, both of whom were hired within the past year.
"We don't know what's in those backpacks, and we should have a pretty good idea", he said. Of the $3.6 million the district receives from the city, they've already spent $150,000 on school safety.
In other business, Interim Superintendent Raymond Freve said he and AOS 94 Superintendent Kevin Jordan met with Maine Department of Education Commissioner (MDOE) Robert G. Hasson Jr. and other officials to discuss the application made to the MDOE for an Integrated Consolidated (grade) 9-16 Educational Facility Pilot Project.
Riise served in 2015 as an elementary school principal and then superintendent of Argos Community Schools.
All four candidates expressed unanimous opposition to pending legislation that would appropriate funding from the school district's budget to fund charter schools and vouchers.
She said Thursday's panel will include former LSU basketball coach John Brady, William Carey assistant professor of nursing Dr. Tomekia Luckett, parent Don Johnson, current students and Ellis.
Hollow says the timeline, which is available on the District homepage, remains on schedule and the only item up in the air would be a decision on site visitations.
"I would be really disappointed if we were to just let this go after spending quite a bit of time and energy moving towards this kind of calendar", he said before the vote.
