YouTube has temporarily suspended ads on Paul's videos after he tasered dead rats in a recent video. Less than a month after YT removed the 22-year-old from Google Preferred, which is a service that "aggregates YouTube's top content...into easy-to-buy packages for brand advertisers", the company chose to suspend ALL ads from both his channels completely. Which is why they are not allowing him to monetize further from his ostentatious output, at least for the moment.
You'd think Paul would have laid low, having lost ad revenue, been cut from YouTube Creators' Originals series and lost a YouTube Red deal for a sequel to his film, The Thinning.
Well, it didn't take long for YouTube personality Logan Paul to run afoul of the video-hosting platform once again.
This is on top of the Tweet that said he would eat as many Tide Pods as he got retweets.
Paul came under heavy fire from everyone including the media, massive stars such as Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul, Chrissy Teigen, and more for his inappropriate behavior towards Japanese culture and for going into the infamous Suicide Forest and filming and posing with a man's corpse. While that loss of income would be huge (SocialBlade estimates Paul earns about $1.2 million a month in ad revenue alone), Paul does have other streams of income via clothing and merchandising.
The video sharing website made a decision to remove all ads on Paul's official YouTube channel temporarily.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals issued the following statement following the release of Paul's video.
The spokeswoman cited examples of Paul using a stun gun on a rat in one video and urging his followers to engage in a recent online craze of eating Tide laundry pods. His channel has 16 million subscribers and over 3 billion views for his videos. YouTube says the images violated its policies and suspended the 22-year-old.
