National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for urban areas and small streams in Marshall County located in north central in, until midnight Wednesday (EST).
The Ohio River in Huntington crested Monday at the level of 53.14 feet, according to the National Weather Service.
Water continues to drain into area rivers with most locations along the Stateline at or above flood stage.
Two weather systems will bring moderate to heavy rainfall in Middle Tennessee this week, according to a statement from the National Weather Service.
Flood warnings along the Maumee River have been extended to the Waterville area.
The Flood Watch that was previously in effect for areas NW has been expanded to include most of central in until Wednesday morning.
The east branch of the Pecatonica River at Blanchardville hit 16.1 feet Wednesday morning, which is considered a major flood.
The National Weather Service predicts the Grand River in Lansing will crest at 14.6 feet, almost three feet above flood stage by late Thursday. The record flood was 20.7 feet in 1950, and flood stage is 13.5 feet in Darlington. With rising river levels, some flooding may occur.
For instance, Illinois 78 near Prophetstown, Illinois, was closed part of the day Wednesday due to flooding.
"Urban, low lying and poor drainage areas prone to flooding will be most susceptible", the service wrote in its note on the flood watch for Southeast Michigan. A crest at 650.3 feet is expected late Friday.
A wide swath of Arkansas faces a marginal risk for severe weather Tuesday ahead of expected heavy rain and potential flooding statewide through the weekend.
"[Flash flooding is] different than our river floods, where we get a lot of rain that all kind of pulls into the river and the river rises, those are a different type of flood", explains Hutton.
NWS tells those living near waterways to be especially cautious, and for all residents to pay close attention to weather forecasts and updated conditions.
