Eagles' Brandon Graham instrumental to stopping Falcons on final drive

Against New Orleans or Minnesota, the Eagles are likely to be underdogs again next Sunday in the NFC Championship game. "At this point, it's one game at a time", said Donte Reed of North Philadelphia. The Eagles held the Falcons to just 10 points on their way to the NFC Championship. After failing to complete a pass on the first two downs, Matt Ryan completed a pass for seven yards to Julio Jones. The Falcons had first-and-goal at the 9, and got to the 2 on fourth down before Ryan's pass to Julio Jones soared over his head in the end zone.

The Eagles, to say the least, were not pleased and apparently used that as motivation on their way to their first playoff victory in nine years. On their first possession, Foles lofted a pass to Torrey Smith who drew a pass interference call, to put the Eagles in business at the Atlanta 33 and to set off frenzied cheers.

Nick Foles left the field in the fourth quarter after leading the Eagles to a game-securing field goal drive with the lead. Instead, he took the ball to start the second half, but it was the Eagles who got the only points of the third period.

On the opening drive, Foles attempted to go deep down the field, throwing a short risky pass to Torey Smith.

After the game, Eagles defensive back Malcolm Jenkins said that the defense knew what the Falcons were running all along. So with precious seconds ticking off the clock in the final stages of Saturday's NFC Divisional Round game, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan tried to make a statement of his own. The Eagles went ahead 6-3 after a 1-yard touchdown run by LeGarrette Blount capped a 14 play, 86-yard drive. Atlanta only allowed 15 points on the day, but the Eagles' physicality overmatched Atlanta's finesse style on both sides of the ball.

The Vikings will play at Philadelphia next weekend, after Jacksonville takes on New England for the AFC title. The two teams last played in October 2016 as the Eagles came away with a 21-10 victory. "That was it. Our team never wavered", Foles said to NBC's Michele Tafoya after the 15-10 win at the Linc.

Ryan finished the game 22-for-36 for 210 yards. The only other team the Eagles have beaten three times in the postseason is the Falcons. With nearly no room to work with, Ryan could only throw up a prayer to Julio Jones that went unanswered. Latavius Murray rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown in eight receptions while Jerrick McKinnon added 34 yards and a touchdown. James White caught a touchdown pass and ran for another, and Danny Amendola had 11 catches for 112 yards. And when the Eagles' defense was on the field, they were as good as they needed to be, keeping the Falcons off the scoreboard the entire second half.
