Samsung Galaxy Note 8 on the other hand sports a dual-camera setup (12MP+12MP) with an f.1/7 aperture, dual pixel technology, OIS, and 2x optical zoom support. If you are the kind to make movies straight from your phone camera, the V30 will win you over.
It goes on sale in mid-September in Korea, with a North American and European release shortly afterward. In its announcement, LG noted that the V30 Plus with 128 GB of storage will be available in "limited markets", though it didn't mention which ones.
Colour options for the V30 include Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet.
Speaking of the front camera, this is perhaps the most puzzling feature of the LG V30.
Pricing has not yet been confirmed, though it is rumoured to come in at around $699 - likely £699 in the UK.
One of the biggest highlights of the LG V30 is the camera that it comes with. The LG V30 is here now to restore the balance, and it's looking very handsome indeed, equipped as it is with an OLED display, an impressive new dual-camera array, and, of course, that Snapdragon 835 at long last. The V30 also comes with the Google Assistant. Even if it is lighter than LG G6, it is larger with a 6-inch display. Lossless audio recording without distortion is made possible by 2 high-quality mics and a receiver. LG also addresses the secondary screen rumors. When not required, it can be dragged off to the side to avoid taking up space. The Always-On Display has also been upgraded, and as well as the time it can now optionally show Quick Tools, Music Player or a personal photo. With an improved Adreno 540 GPU for faster graphics rendering and higher resolution display support, it's the best on offer for this device. This happens to be the second video released today by LG following the unveiling of the V30. Cine Video was the first feature that LG showcased, giving the user the ability to record "cinema-like video with professional color grading".
While the screen might be the first thing you take note of, LG wants the camera to make a lasting impression. The full vision display offers the users with a more vivid experience on VR.
The LG V30 features a headphone jack and the audio output from the smartphone sounds pretty good with the Quad DAC and B&O (Bang & Olufsen) Play branded speakers. Also, the display supports the High Dynamic Range 10 content. But, in either case, you can expand it further up to 2TB via microSD card.
Its connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi Direct, WLAN, Bluetooth, USB OTG, and USB Type-C.
On the outside, the V30 comes with a "minimalist" design, much like the G6, consisting of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and metal, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. To deal with heat the V30 has a heat pipe and cooling pad.
